Dviation Group Launches New Business Unit to Spearhead Future Aviation Solutions

8 September 2022, Shah Alam – The Dviation Group is pleased to announce its continued expansion with the official launch of KarbonMRO at the Selangor Aviation Show today. Established in support of the industry’s de-carbonization and sustainability goals, KarbonMRO’s solutions are centered around specialized engineering and maintenance services tailored exclusively for next-generation aerial vehicles.

“We are thrilled to launch KarbonMRO to meet the needs of future air mobility operators and stakeholders. With more than a decade of experience and expertise in the MRO domain, our organisation is as ready as ever to venture into this frontier, as we strive to be at the forefront of providing sustainable aviation solutions,” commented Kevin Teoh, Managing Director of Dviation Group.

Witnessing the launch ceremony were YB Dato Teng Chang Khim, Selangor Senior State Executive Councillor for Industry and Trade; Dato Hasan Azhari, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Selangor Berhad; and Jamie Haniff Ramlee, Director of SDAICO, Invest Selangor Berhad. Also present was Robert Matthews, representing Honda Aircraft Company as Supervisor, Field Support.

To lead off KarbonMRO’s operations, the Dviation Group has partnered with Honda Aircraft Company to manage the first and exclusive authorized service center (ASC) for the Southeast Asia region, featuring a full spectrum of technical support for HondaJet operators and owners in the region.

The newly established ASC is planning to commence commercial operations in October 2022, kicking off with its first major assignment, a 600-hour major check for the world’s most advanced light jet, the HondaJet HA-420.

A team of highly skilled factory-trained engineers and technicians will be tasked with ensuring the successful embodiment of this major check – an estimated six-week long process which will see the complete removal of all interior and exterior panels for detailed structural inspections, defect rectification and extensive functional test, before returning the aircraft in an airworthy condition.

“Our partnership with Honda Aircraft Company Inc. presents opportunities not just for both organisations, but for many other industry players in this region. With this collaboration and the commencement of maintenance services for the HondaJet fleet, we can now support a wide range of clients throughout Southeast Asia, meeting their future needs today,” added Mr. Teoh.

KarbonMRO joins the Group’s training, aircraft maintenance, consultancy, recruitment, and FTM/CAMO arms.
